Course A: Foundations of Faith

A-01. Walking by Faith
The Christian life begins and continues the same way: by faith, grace, and the Holy Spirit, not by personal effort. This lesson explains that the Christian life is a daily, continuous process of trusting God’s promises above our circumstances and depending on His unmerited favor for strength.

A-02. Growing in Grace
Spiritual growth is an essential sign of health, requiring us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ. This means pursuing an intimate understanding of Jesus in His roles as Lord, Savior, and Christ, allowing us to depend daily on His unmerited favor for transformation.

A-03. Yielding to the Spirit
The Christian life is impossible in our own strength. This lesson focuses on the command to be filled with the Spirit, which is a continuous lifestyle of surrendering control to God. The Holy Spirit provides the power to overcome sin and guide us into holy living, producing spiritual fruit in our lives.

A-04. Living in Holiness
Holiness is not mere rule-keeping but a divine command flowing from God’s character and the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This lesson teaches that true holiness is being like Christ. Holiness requires “putting off the flesh” and “putting on Christ” in our daily lives.

A-05. Being a Witness
Witnessing for Christ is not just something we do, but it’s something we are. We are witnesses before the world through holy living, through endurance in suffering, and through active love and service. By God’s grace, this is how we point others to the life-saving message of Christ.

A-06. Talking to God
Prayer is simply talking to God and spending time with our Heavenly Father. We learn to pray effectively by following Christ’s example. This lesson introduces a simple, practical pattern for daily prayer based on four key elements: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication (A.C.T.S.).

A-07. Worshipping in Truth
Worship is our heart’s response to the character of God. This lesson focuses on the requirement to worship God “in truth” (John 4:24), meaning our praise must be grounded in and guided by Scripture and what it reveals about God’s character. True worship involves both the heart (in spirit) and practical action.

A-08. Serving in Love
Serving others is central to the Christian life. Christian service is defined as humility and love in action and was perfectly modeled by Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. We are called to serve our family, our neighbor (anyone in need), and the Church as we exercise our spiritual gifts to build up the Body of Christ.

A-09. Sharing the Gospel
The Gospel is the power of God for salvation. This lesson focuses on the Great Commission and the need to be prepared to give an answer for our hope. Effective sharing uses our personal testimony, presents the plan of salvation clearly, and starts by reaching those around us in our everyday lives.

A-10. Understanding the Bible
God’s Word is the primary way He speaks to us today. This lesson teaches that we must approach Scripture with the same reverence Jesus demonstrated, praying for an open heart. The lesson provides a simple five-part framework for approaching the Bible in obedience and surrender.
